Lesson 2 – Why it is very important for you to learn Music Theory if you want to learn how to play the Piano

There are people that find Music Theory boring; they prefer to get it done quickly or even skip it and start playing songs/melodies/chords on the Piano. They prefer to watch video tutorials for songs and mimic/follow the tutorials without having a thorough understanding of why they’re playing what they’re being told to play. People that don’t understand Music Theory will struggle to be able to play in all 12 Keys fluently. Music Theory is very important because it gives you a strong foundation in Music.

When you understand Music Theory, you will be able to create your own Chord Progressions, Melodies and play along with any song without having to depend on any teacher or any online video tutorial or any music sheet. Having a good understanding of Music Theory will also enable you to learn other musical instruments quicker; this is because Music Theory is generally the same for every musical instrument. Music Theory is not boring and I will strongly advise you not to skip any vital part of it while learning to play the Piano or any musical instrument.
